This is our favourite restaurant in the area. The food is local and delicious and the atmosphere is warm, friendly and welcoming. Their seafood chowder must get a special mention! We have been going here for years and they have never left their service dropped.

Award winning food with great views of the river. You can also eat in the more relaxed Terrace Bar & Cafe. We have also heard great reports about their breakfast!!!

Relaxed old pub with terrace seating outside and a menu that leans a lot towards fish. Small, intimate, delicious. Strongly recommend your reserve.

I love to go here on a Saturday morning, get some fresh coffee, browse, enjoy the atmosphere and buy some local food produce. Well worth a visit but on a Saturday! Some of it is covered over so you can still enjoy it on a rainy Saturday. I have read a couple of negative reviews about it on Trip Advisor which I don't understand unless maybe they were visits done on a day other than a Saturday. It is very much a local market.

A fascinating landscape and geological wonderland, steeped in history, this landscape is completely different to the typical luscious green landscapes, we usually think of when we think of Ireland. Read more here: http://www.burrennationalpark.ie/

Entertainment & Activities

This is so close, it would be a shame not to visit it. Yes it is full of tourists - Irish ones too and we have been ourselves several times and enjoyed it each time. Enjoy the medieval banquet or the traditional Irish evening in the Corn Bar. Personally, I tend to prefer the evening at the Corn bar but my husband loves the banquet experience!

Arts & Culture

Though small, it is incredibly impressive. The museum hosts one of Ireland's greatest private collections of art and antiquities and also hosts visiting national and international exhibitions.

Beautiful village with thatched cottages and home to the recently reopened stunning Adare Manor & Golf Course. The village has a few very interesting little boutiques, some wonderful restaurants and if you feel like being very indulgent you could enjoy afternoon tea at the Manor!

Not as famous as some of Ireland's other beaches but is beautiful and home to an amazing Links golfcourse that has often been mentioned in the top 10 Golf courses in the world. It has played host to many celebs including Bill Clinton. Rumour has it that a hair salon there called Monica's was asked to change it's name in advance of Bill's visit!

The first place I visited with my husband (who was not yet my husband at that time) where he handed me the camera and asked me to take a photo of him as opposed to do everything in his power to avoid being photographed! Breathtaking experience with a very interesting visitors centre. A highlight on the Wild Atlantic Way.
