Food Scene

Gluten free! Early risers get the occasionally made cinnamon roll. The chocolate chip cookie is classic. I’m not an early enough riser but if I were, cinnamon rolls FTW.

Best cinnamon rolls in the Madison area! You are making a solid choice with any pastry or bread here. It’s all classic and much are near works of art. My mom makes sure to take two loaves of bread home with her when she visits from out of state!

If you’d don’t need excess ambiance but want choices for a fresh, taste bud awakening hot meal. Customize your protein and other options! I’d like to try other things but can’t get away from Chicken Tikka and Panang Curry!

The views are nothing fancy but they’ve managed to operate in this neighborhood (moved across the street to a less vibey spot) for decades. The flavors are worth it. And again…early birds get the choices. Once it’s noon you should assume not much is left! Park along the street or if it’s going to be five minutes and no street parking, the lot next door may have a spot.

Classic out and back flat walk. You can make it longer by using the Lakeshore Path but the basic walk can be done in an hour. The campus and city views are worth it. Do take a few minutes to sit at the end of the point!

Getting around without a car

You are on Madison Metro bus line 67. Bus goes by twice an hour at the time of this writing but check the website as special operating hours sometimes occur. You’ll be one mile from west transfer point to get you beyond the west side. Tip: sometimes your bus route number changes but you don’t change buses. Also, the folks staffing the phone line are very good. They can assist if the website is confusing. Uber & Lyft exist. Union Cab is your cab operator; giving hours notice is best. An hour or two doesn’t cut it. Zipcar and BCycle exist as well. Look up their websites for how to use.
