Sightseeing

A great family friendly place right in the heart of the Cairns CBD. This has the benefits of being a 2:1. This is a wildlife park with the adventure aspect of being able to do a zipline/rope course with different levels of challenges for the kids and even a DOME climb for those that are a bit adventurous. This climb takes in the spectacular views of Cairns right out of Trinity inlet and the Coral Sea. An obligatory selfie is a must when out on the Dome. Highly recommend.

Well worth the trip up to Kuranda starting at Cairns. The Railway route meanders through the scenic lush World Heritage Rainforest, cascading waterfalls and tropical mountain ranges. The trip from Freshwater station to Kuranda takes approx 1.5 hours, stopping at Red Peak Station and Barron Falls, where you can take some stunning selfies or capture the stunning landscape. Once you reach Kuranda you have plenty opportunity to explore at your leisure, with lots of places like the Butterfly sanctuary, Koala Gardens, Birdworld, or stroll through the heritage and original Kuranda markets. Additionally there are many options to grab a meal. Family friendly and a must on your to-do list.
