City/town information
Chichester is the County town of West Sussex. The centre piece of the town is, undoubtedly the magnificent Cathedral. Inside the Cathedral you will find so many ancient treasures as well as a glorious stained glass window by Marc Chagall.
Also the ancient Cross sited at the centre of the compass layout of the pedestrianised town centre is a local landmark.
There are a myriad of cafés and restaurants in the town.
The renowned Pallant Gallery is found in the architecturally interesting Pallants just a short walk from the centre.
There is the Chichester Festival Theatre which rivals any West End offering!
Just a few minutes out of town you will find Goodwood Estate, home to the Duke of Richmond. There is not only the elegant Goodwood House but the Racecourse, Aerodrome and motor race track, Goodwood farmshop, Goodwood golf course and the Goodwood Park Hotel. Annual events such as The Festival of Speed, Goodwood Revival and Glorious Goodwood make the area a must visit.
Chichester Harbour encompasses so many gems, such as Bosham, Itchenor, West Wittering with it's incredible beach and Pagham for the bird life. It is a must visit for sailors and lovers of the sea.
Inland, the South Downs National Park has so many lovely villages and Hamlets with magnificent walks and charming country pubs.
