The Grade II listed Deal Timeball Tower was built in 1820. It has recently been renovated. It is programmed to drop at 13:00 every day, and it's so exciting to see it in action and to think of its history. The time signal allowed ships in the area to check the accuracy of their chronometers in order that they could navigate accurately. Do visit this lovely Tower. You can tie it into a trip to The Pier Kitchen!

The Grange was build by Augustus Pugin in 1845. It is set in its own private garden, and Pugin designed it for his family to live in. The interiors are jewel like and fascinating, and this is a very peaceful space. Pugin also built St Augustine's Church, in the shadow of The Presbytery next door. This is a real treat.

The Grotto is a Grade I listed winding, subterranean passageway, and is utterly awe inspiring. The walls and roof are covered in about 4.6 million seashells. No one knows whether it is a Pagan grotto or a Regency Folly, so its origins remain a mystery. It is quite dark in places, with uneven floors and ceilings.
