Always a nice activity for family, friends, solo, or couples. They have some special items on their website like early access tour, family sunrise tours, sharks behind the scenes tour, dolphin training sessions and more. I'd definitely recommend a trip if you have time.

Another great spot for families or anyone interested in science! The IMAX theatre always has interesting documentaries and sometimes feature films. It is right around the corner so it is very convenient as well.

Fort McHenry is about a 2-mile walk from the house. The flag flying at the fort is the inspiration for the Star-Spangled Banner. If it's a nice day we've always enjoyed the walk over there. You can tour the fort for a small price as it is a part of the National Park Service. There is a large lawn area, that is a peninsula looking out over the Baltimore Harbor, which can be a nice spot for a picnic or even just a nice stroll.

Camden Yards is a classic ballpark at this point. With it being another short walk away it is a great place to watch a ball game in the spring-fall. The box office is always running cheap ticket specials so it is always worth checking their website or even stopping by the box office itself.

Neighborhoods

Federal Hill was a defensive stronghold during the War of 1812 and replica cannons sit atop the neighborhood’s namesake hill in honor of its role as a military outpost. Now, Federal Hill is characterized by historic brick row homes and numerous locally-owned shops and restaurants. It’s home to both newcomers and families that have lived here for generations. Its charm combines 19th-century history with beautiful architecture and ample entertainment.

Fell’s Point is a dynamic, must see destination for locals and visitors alike embodying the true spirit of Baltimore. Nestled along the cobblestone streets and charming waterfront Fell’s Point Main Street is home to more than 100 small businesses where you can eat and drink, stop and shop and stay and play. Explore our historic neighborhood and become part of our vibrant community. Fell's point has a vibrant bar scene on the water, but be aware during the summer months it can be very busy (crowded). Parking is tough sometimes and the cobblestone streets are rough so an Uber/taxi/bike ride may be the best choice.

Surrounded by monuments, museums, and historic and quirky neighborhoods, Harbor East celebrates the now. We are a destination where there is always something new and delicious to try. Harbor East houses some of Baltimore's more upscale restaurants, hotels, and bars. Can be a quiet place for a nice date night or celebration. If you are looking to go all out The Bygone is an excellent choice, located in the Four Seasons and provides spectacular harbor views.

The trendy harborside neighborhood of Canton centers on quaint O’Donnell Square Park and its ring of lively sports bars, gastropubs, pastry shops and seafood restaurants. Crab shacks, oyster bars and New American eateries line the busy waterside promenade, which runs toward Canton Waterfront Park and the solemn Korean War Memorial. Crowds descend on the park for food and wine festivals, plus a summer concert series.

This is our favorite ice cream place in the neighborhood! It is always faster, cheaper, and in our opinion better than the other two options. We are the ONLY ice cream shop serving dairy farm fresh ice cream in the City of Baltimore. Our super creamy, super premium ice cream comes to us from a local 4th generation dairy farm & creamery. We are Farm Fresh COW to CONE! Taste the difference! We also make our own ultra thick and creamy House-Made Soft Serve Ice Cream and Non-Dairy VEGAN Soft Serve

One of the best sushi places in all of Baltimore! Be careful they get swamped almost every night so I'd plan accordingly. Shoyou Sushi is one of the most coveted sushi spots in Baltimore. Although we are small, our sushi rolls are truly larger than life. Chef Bruce maintains a high standard of fish selection, handpicking the freshest fish for his restaurant. He provides true passion and care for his sushi rolls, and has chosen humorous names such as the 'Hot Night Baby' Roll, 'Who's Your Daddy,' and the legendary Japanese Burrito. He works alongside a team of a few hard-working employees who constantly work twice as hard to make up for the small team. Shoyou Sushi brings in a variety of customers from the Baltimore/DC area and maintains its reputation for the freshest premium fish in the area. In March 2018, we moved to a new and improved location, just down the street for our original spot. Come stop in to see the new place, and allow Sushi Bruce to 'sho-you' his sushi-making skills!

One of our favorite places to walk to and have a nice casual lunch out on the dock! Almost 100 years ago, Luigi DiPasquale Sr. opened a corner grocery store in the ethnically rich community of Highlandtown. Four generations of continuous family operation has gained DiPasquale’s a reputation for being a superior retailer and importer of fine Italian foods and specialty items. If you are looking for the finest imported Italian food products in Baltimore … look no further. Talk with our experienced deli staff. With our traditional recipes from the Old World, our fresh products are made daily. Smell the fresh-baked breads. Browse through our extensive wine selection and ask about wine grapes & juice for making homemade Italian wine. Delightfully treat yourself to our hard to-find cooking accessories (pasta machines, espresso makers). Have lunch in our cozy dining room that is complete with a classic brick oven. Allow us to cater your next party or office luncheon. Experience why four generations of customers throughout the Mid-Atlantic region, and travelers from all over the world, love shopping at DiPasquale’s.

Music Scene

The 8x10 is owned by Abigail Janssens and Brian Shupe. We try to provide a stable place where bands and fans can grow together through music and art. We try to provide a safe atmosphere for bands and fans to let go of the weight of day to day life and shed some of the protective layers this world demands. We try to encourage an environment where bands and fans are aware of, support, and take care of each other every night. This is what we feel you expect from us, and also what we expect from you.

There are music venues, and then there are institutions, the kinds of places whose lore and legacy live on long after their doors have closed. New York had CBGB. LA had the Whisky A Go Go. Baltimore had Hammerjacks. ‍ Opened in 1977, Hammerjacks was synonymous with rock & roll in Baltimore for two glorious, debaucherous decades, playing host over the years to everyone from Guns N’ Roses and Ozzy Osbourne to Iggy Pop and the Ramones. Joan Jett shot the video for “I Love Rock ‘n Roll” there. Iron Maiden featured the club on the cover of its 1986 album Somewhere In Time. John Waters filmed crucial scenes for his cult classic Serial Mom inside. Belly up to the bar on any given night and you might have spotted members of Poison, Def Leppard, or Journey hanging out after nearby arena shows. “Hammerjacks,” the Baltimore Sun declared in no uncertain terms, “defined the Baltimore popular music scene.”
