This place has great Italian style ice cream which is handmade in the Altiplano neighborhood so it's super fresh. There are three locations within walking distance - the one listed here, one in the food court of the nearby Patio Shopping Center and a stand in the shopping area of our own building.

There are three locations within walking distance - the one listed here, one in the food court of the nearby Patio Shopping Center and a stand in the shopping area of our own building.
The Skybar is within the apartment building itself -on one of the top floors. Go for the view - not so much the food. It can also be a crowded scene especially on Friday and Saturday - but if you go around 3:30 - 4:00 especially Mon - Thurs - you should avoid most of that and just take in the beauty of the view with a drink in hand. If you are only after the view - you can go staight to the Mirante at the top of the building. There is an entrance fee for this of course.

This is an excellent notary which in Brazil you may need for all kinds of reasons. They are super organized and professional - I highly recommend them.

Of course I have had better in NY, SF, Rome, etc but well worth a taste. You can also check out their sister restaurant Familia Muccini in Tambau for more of a classic dining room experience.

I love the pizza at Pimenta Nativa. It's not classic Italian, NY or even Brazilian. They make a thin, almost pastry crust and cover it with sesame seeds. I love it. The toppings are also wonderful. It's a great excuse to visit the Bessa Beach area if you needed any additional incentive.

This may be the best Portuguese restaurant in Joao Pessoa. The dishes are professionally prepared with perfect technique and the ingredients are excellent. The space is very...well...Portuguese! The waitresses wear traditional costumes. It can get quiet crowded at peak hours so best to avoid those times if possible.

There is this location and also one in the Manaira Shopping Center - which my be just a little better foodwise - although this location is much more rustic and fun.

This place is a real find. The food is very fresh and well prepared - like home cooking. The Owner and wait staff are really nice and the space is simple, rustic but beautiful. Price wise this is the best value for money I have found in Joao Pessoa.

It's right in front of the beach so if you snag a table up front you may find yourself tempted to say a while - it's very pleasant. Note - it does get crowded at peak lunch hour so best to go early. It has free parking in the back.

The space itself is calm and relaxing with excellent air conditioning - always something to consider in the beach neighborhoods. The location is near the Artesenato Center and local bank branches in Tambau so definitely convenient. There is a free parking lot to the side.
