Food scene

You don’t need to be a special occasion to enjoy a plate of oysters with a pint of stout by the sea. The Urchin serves you simple, fresh shellfish, craft beer - brewed onsite - and wine in a relaxed environment, any day of the week.

Recreation

Hove Park is popular with local residents, dog walkers and runners. The park covers almost 40 acres and features a mix of large areas of open grass, mature trees, flower beds, sports and play facilities. There is a decent cafe and pop up food and cover vendors on the road.

Our local pub is a combination of exposed brick, wooden floors and industrial pendant lamps and outside there’s a lovely al fresco space for soaking up the sunshine, while for the colder months there's a cosy log burner to keep you toasty. General Manager, Cormac, has brought his love of art to the place, picking out some eye-catching artwork for the walls, as well as installing his own masterpieces about the place. There are two big screens round a corner where live sport is regularly shown and there is a stage area for live music. There are quite a few lagers on offer, and being a Laine Brew Co establishment there’s a varied selection of Laine Brew Co pales, and cask ales, as well as some niche guest options such as seasonal ales and sours. The pub also offers a great choice of English wines plus gins and spirits to cater for all tastes. The kitchen is outsourced to Dirty Shack, which offer a classic selection of burgers and wings, advertised as ‘Cajun cuisine’, and a few vegetarian dishes. Dog friendly and wheelchair accessible, The Exchange is a great example of a local pub well modernised.
