Delicious breakfast joint. Arrive early or be prepared to wait. If you do wait, it is close to lake so you can cross the street and take the kids over there to play for a litte. They have very good benedicts and a berry compote for waffles/pancakes that is worth the extra $2! This is my favorite restaurant in Tahoe.

This is located right at the entrance of the Truckee River from the Lake. It has great outdoor seating in the summer right next to the river and cozy cabin feel inside for winter. Great burgers and beers. If you get a burger you can easily split… they are reasonably priced and huge!

This is a nice little cafe in town. Their service is a little on the slower side but it is still worth it. If you stumble upon it, the food is good and they have a good Fat Cat Burger and bacon mac.

They just opened a great new location on the water/marina. Good food and service. It is a Alabama-based BBQ joint and it is well worth it! Awesome ambiance too.

This is a nice little coffee/pastry spot. They have a nice patio with outdoor seating and some good pastries. I always enjoy spending a morning there. Kids can run around and it is safe.

They make a great simple pepperoni pizza. They have other great stuff too but they’ve really got the pepperoni down! This is an easy option and usually not too long of wait or crowd in the summer months. Winter I would recommend getting in early and being prepared to wait on busy ski weekends. You can also pick up to-go!

The Safeway in Truckee is ~8 miles from our house and a great spot to go on your way into town. It is the largest grocery store and it is a better Safeway than the one in Tahoe City.
