You can’t see this unless you are a guest or live in the Omni Resort! Marilyn’s very favorite place. Arrive before 8am to see a host of birds, little scuttling crabs and a spectacular view of the wetlands. There’s also pickle-ball courts, Playgrounds, great bathrooms, picnic tables and scenic walking trails. Spend the day!!

There is nothing better for mental and physical health than a brisk beach walk. Any time of day/year (I prefer the beach when it’s chilly or cloudy).

Go left out the front door past the row of condos to a narrow paved lane that goes into the forest to the left. Follow the 1/2 mile path over bridges and under the towering live oaks. We’ve seen owls, hawks, bunnies and lots of squirrels. It’s fun at night with flash lights!

The Sunken Forest is actually a gorgeous staircase going up through the woods with views of the beach and a private picnic spot (or coffee, champagne, sparkling water spot) with views of Amelia Beach.

Great little hole in the wall on the water and under the bridge. Don’t be put off by the long dirt road to get there! Long waits for tables, but you can see Georgia! Shrimp and grits and local catch are the spiller family faves.

Walk from Villa Spiller - the ultimate locals’ hangout. Cute shop, good wine selection, outdoor seating for delicious breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Enormous cookies and baked goods. We love sitting by the pond fountain and watching the turtles sun themselves.

On the St John’s River, the Sand Dollar is a 20 minute drive from the villa but we recommend sitting outside. Eat fried clam strips or shrimp and watch the shrimp boats, dolphins and boaters go by.

Private Beach Access

Drive past the Omni Hotel (stop in for a drink…), past the Sunken Forest and about 1/4 mile up is a small parking lot on the right. Park and walk up the path between two ocean front condos over the walkway to the beach. Fabulous! Watch for gopher turtles and enjoy a wide, often quiet beach!!
Just past the Omni on the right you will see a small sign that says beach access. Park in the small parking lot on the right side of the road and take the path between 2 oceanfront condo buildings. Watch for gopher turtles!
