Jugon les Lacs is a great place to base yourself for fishing holidays in Brittany.

Jugon is situated between the 60 hectare ETANG DE JUGON and the 200 hectare lake on the River Arguenon. There are numerous opportunities to fish for roach, dace, carp, tench, pike, sander, and since 2009, black bass in the ETANG DE JUGON. Many swims are within walking distance of La Retrait.
Trout fishing in Brittany is also within easy reach. Even the rivers and streams running through the town of Jugon les Lacs are classed as Category 1, which means they support trout. With a good flow of water, I’m always tempted by the pool just below the flour mill in Jugon, but despite a few attempts with the fly, I’ve not managed to hook a brownie.
Jugon les Lacs is a Mecca for Carp Fishing in Brittany. The ETANG DE JUGON varyies in depth from 1m to 5m with an average depth of 3m. Carp in excess of 40 lbs have been caught. Some of the best swims are within walking distance of the La Retrait, and on the western side of the lake there is easy access for cars, so you can park right next to your swim. All you need take out of the car are your rods, rests, chair and of course your landing net!
In case the ETANG DE JUGON doesn’t offer you enough variety for your stay, why not try some of the other local lakes, including:
