For anyone who likes Indian food Maazi Restaurant (www.maazi.co.uk ) is a must. Offering both takeaway and dine in, you wont be disappointed. We can recomeend the box meal for two which is amazing value for money. There are two curry houses in Hathersage, however, Mazzi is our choice.

Sightseeing

The highest open air swimming pool in the UK. Newly refurbished, Hathersage pool is one of a dwindling number of heated outdoor pools remaining. Heated to 28 degrees, with hot poolside showers, lawns and views of stanage edge, it is a hugely popular place to spend time all year round. And why not call into the Pool Café after your swim for a hot chocolate and some homemade cake.

Stanage Edge is a world famous gritstone formation. Climbers visit from around the world to climb Stanage. One of the only locations to have every degree of difficulty for climbing. Probably the number one sight in the local area. A great walk is to start at one end and make it to the other. Be warned, on a bad day it can be very wet, and very windy.

Castleton is at the far end of the Hope Valley. It is a very picturesque village that ends at the foot of 'Winnats Pass'. There are plenty of pubs and eateries in Castleton. There are also many of the local caverns, the main one being Speedwell, where you can go underground, on a boat, and see the fascinating rock formations. There are some stunning walks to start or finish in Castleton. It is certainly worth making your way to the top of Winnats, walking to the edge and seeing the view down the whole valley. The best view is at sunrise, however, this can be a very early start.
