Food scene

Authentic Hawaiian food with huge portions and great service. Inside/outside seating, but seating is limited. Casual dining, takeout available. Doesn’t currently serve alcohol. We got the nachos & shrimp meal, & it was enough for 3 meals between 2 people. Great value for the price and quality.

Neighborhoods

Fun, hip, walkable, with plenty to do close by! You will stumble across so many adorable shops while exploring the area. Everything from a local art gallery, to a thrift shop, to a store dedicated only to the sale of various types of drums throughout history. You could spend days exploring all the shops & talking to the owners about their craft, as people around town are very friendly. The streets are also lined with breweries dedicated to serving only local drinks on their menus. This theme is seen in restaurants who strive to use local meats, breads, cheeses, etc. as much as possible, giving any place you go a farm to table vibe. You are never far from a park or a great hike that makes you feel like you are in the middle of the forest, even though you are still in the city. Alberta Park is close by & includes a basketball court, dog off-leash area, picnic tables, playground, soccer field, softball field and tennis court, as well as paved and unpaved paths.
