You can follow the Suffolk Coastal Path without having to worry about turning off and you'll meander through the forest, reed beds and onto the beach at the Walberswick or you can walk along the beach from Dunwich. Travel to Southwold in style on the Walberswick Ferry over the River Blyth, whilst taking in the scenery. Please take into consideration that the ferry only runs from Easter to October.

Aldeburgh is known for their delicious fish and chips from their local fish and chips and the pebble beach. The Lighthouse restaurant is really good and there are plenty of places to get an ice cream! Whilst you are there, try sail a boat on Aldeburgh boating pond. A great activity to keep little ones occupied. There is a shop in the nearby LifeBoat Station to purchase your own, or just turn up and observe the others. Thorpeness is a nearby village, venture by car or walk along the coastal path for 2 miles for a village with a similar feel to Aldeburgh, just less busy! If you visit be sure to explore the village and view The House in the Clouds.

Westleton is the next village along from Dunwich and boasts a lovely place to eat in the form of the Westleton Crown. Highly recommend the food here - it's more than just pub grub which is lovely to find for those special occasions. Westleton also has a pretty village green and most of the houses are quintessential country cottages so it's a pleasant place to have a stroll. There is also a fantastic park for the kiddies to play in. It has everything from a football pitch to a zip wire and outdoor gym!

All the cottages are located in the village of Dunwich and there is so much to do right on your doorstep. The village has a pub, two tearooms and even a small museum explaining how in the 12th Century most of the trading port of Dunwich was swept away into the sea! The beach is just past the pub and there are hundreds of walks into Dunwich forest, along the cliffs and onto the natural heath land.
