Tulsa Sites

The city of Tulsa is a cultural and artistic gem in the Southwest. Here are some of my favorite places…
Listen to Woody Guthrie. The anchor of American folk music, Woody’s work and cultural legacy is on display here with a dazzling permanent collection. Plus the exhibit gives a great history of Oklahoma.

This is THE thing to see right now, it just opened to a huge amount of fanfare and should be a great experience. Please let me know what you think, I’m dying to go.

Food scene

As a New Yorker for 20+ years who grew up in Tulsa, I am a bona fide food snob. When I left Oklahoma in 2000, the food scene wasn’t great. But I am so impressed with the burgeoning restaurant scene in Tulsa. Here are some good places to try…
This is one of my Tulsa favorites, great food (creative sushi)… and the best part is how easy it is to get there from my house! Best calamari ever… and I love the meesh mash.

Oklahoma Day Trips

There are a lot of great places statewide, here are my favorites!
Boomer Sooner! A visit to my alma mater won’t disappoint. The campus is stunning, there’s a world class art museum, an amazing natural history museum, the home of the National Weather Service, plus tons of great shopping and restaurants. If you can make it to a football game, then do. It’s about 2 hours away, worth a drive.
