We regularly cycle to Bawdsey Quay. There is free but limited car parking, the Boathouse Cafe and an occasional ice-cream van. Great for a paddle. Toilet facilities.
A favourite, not least for the journey itself, is to take the Deben Ferry - a small foot boat - from Bawdsey Quay to Felixstowe Ferry, on the opposite bank of the Deben. Here there is a pub, cafes, an excellent fresh fish shop, and a boat yard.
