Towns and Sightseeing.

Wanaka is an awesome place for a day trip - About 75 mins drive over the crown range there are many attractions to stop and see on the way. Stop mid-way up the Crown Range for awesome breathtaking mountain views and photos, then on to the Cardrona taven for a look see. Maybe a tour through the Cardrona Distillery. Then on to Wanaka.

Old Cromwell -Off the beaten track there is a small and very special historical part of Cromwell coming to life again. A great stroll along the waterfront check out the old building ruins then have a beer at the pub. It's small but if you're still up to explore drive a little further to Clyde for a look see. 45 mins drive from here.

A small historic gold mining town which when the damn was built rediverted the main highway away from this little gem. This beautiful little spot was forgotten about for about 30 years. With the renovation of the 'Olivers Restaurant', 'The Lord Clyde' and the rail trail this gorgeous town has sprung back to life again. Great accommodation, food, rent a bike or go for a bite.

Food scene

One of Queenstown's oldest pizza joints! Named the cow as it was Queenstown's original cow milking shed. Great pizza, cool atmosphere, cozy fire. It can get busy so be prepared to wait and/ or share a table. Worth it! 12 pm - 12 am.

Two Supermarkets just 5 mins drive from here.

The cheapest and freshest of our local supermarkets. At the end of Tuckers beach road, turn left (to go right) and go under the bridge. this will take towards Queenstown. At the first roundabout turn left, then left again.

Downhill mountain biking. We're happy for you to use the mountain bikes, bike racks, and helmuts. Just newly opened is the downhil mountain bike track from the top of Coronet Peak ski field to the bottom. Skill level 6 out of 10. There have been a few crashes so beware and take care.

About 300m down the road from our mailbox (right) is the start of the cycle/walking track. From here you can go basically as far as your legs can handle. Follow the Shotover river and head to Queenston or the other direction to Arrowtown and out to Gibbston Valley (wineries). Great for a local explore of the area. You are more than welcome to borrow our bikes.
