Sightseeing

I was looking on the internet for someplace to go during the school holidays with my 6 years old kid and somehow ended up in this page. A mini zoo in Seri Kembangan?? Well, I did not expect that and we planned to visit this place the next morning. The first thing we got to see was the huge tortoise and there were 3 of them and you can actually feed them. The workers there will provide some vegetables to feed them. FOC and Unlimited. hehe. There are quite a few animals and birds all in the open space where you can pat them and feed them as well. Pony ride is available but only for family package (2 adults and 2 kids). But, the kind workers there allowed to take picture on the pony(without the ride) if you dont have family package. My 6 years old son really enjoyed the place and worth visiting. The ticket was a bit pricey, though. RM32 for Malaysian adults and RM27 for Malaysian kids. And the turtle tanks definitely needs cleaning. It was so fun feeding the animals, playing with them, and taking pictures. Kids will totally enjoy it. You pay the ticket, and you can tour the farm as many times as you want. The place is not big, but you won't realize the time you spend touring the farm. Unfortunately adults can't ride the pony. Hehe. I played with a few birds, and one of them pooped on my hijab. Haha. It was quite difficult to catch the fish. They were too small. Guinea pigs were cute and hungry. I love the place, and will definitely go there again with my family. Its a very basic concept but something kids will love it! Its a nice green cover in this busy hot city of KL. Took us about 15-20mins from KL Sentral so not too far. There is an entry ticket 48MYR for Foreigners & 30MYR for Malaysians. Seems a bit over priced but then kids like it so... Big Turtles welcome you on entering. The volunteers will give you some grass to feed these turtles & is quite an exciting experience. There are a variety of turtles in enclosures. As you progress there are many other varieties like the bird aviary, Savannah to view the Kangaroos, Reptiles, rabbit farm, feed the fish. There are programs like the Parrot show, feed the otter, feed the raccoon that happen through the day at various set time. There is a very small pony ride that the kids can enjoy along with holding tiny chicks, touching a snake, tortoise & mini iguana ! There are many other variety of animals to view in enclosures. One can easily spend about 2-3hrs at this place. At the end you are given a certificate of attendance which is a very nice concept! Makes the kid happy. If you are living in KL or visiting KL for decently long period do take the kids to this place they will have a great time. Remember even the adults dont get bored! Its open from 10 to 6 & closed on Tuesdays. But best to check their FB page for latest updates. Their website is still under construction. Very good place especially to bring your young children. The place is family friendly with dedicated stroller walkway. Only sometimes it gets a little warm especially when crowd people. Many types of species as well. Good early exposure to children.

Everything Else

I enjoyed this shopping mall because of the balance between nature and commercialism. The nearby river runs through the bottom level of the mall and standing along the edge you can see lots of carp fish in the water. If you stay at the hotel across the lake there is a ferry boat that will transport you directly to the mall! There are at least 4 floors of shopping, including the ground floor, which is where most of the restaurant are. I dined at one of my favorites, Nando's. Also there are a couple of money changers in the mall that have good exchange rates...much better than the airport. What I like about most of the malls in Malaysia is that it is really convenient to make your daily prayers...there is typically a prayer room, called Surah, that allows Muslims to make their prayers with ease. This is definitely not something you see in the shopping malls of Western countries. A big shopping mall in Seri Kembangan/ Balakong. About 400 outlet in the mall. Basically, we can find anything need there, including cinema Great place for shopping, can take a boat cruise to The Mines lake & there are hotels nearby. Parking space is also available at next building (MICC) instead at the shopping mall building itself. I can spend my whole day here..start with shopping, watch movie, play bowling & there is a gym too. The shopping mall is really special as it offers the lake cruise which is not something common for the local shopping malls. I would come to this mall whenever there is Book Fair event in the nearby Mines or Mines2 Convention Center. The recent visit ended happily with a short lake cruise with two nephews. The mall is managed by CMMT Reit which also have other popular shopping malls such as Gurney Mall and Sungei Wang. The mall management is good as you can see different tenant mix in the shops here. It is a unique experience, they hv 2 lakes in the mall and has a boat ride. Avoidable on a rainy day as they do close down the boat ride facility. There are varies kind of shop available here including Daiso (RM5/item). This shopping mall also attracted us since it is build up by half (maybe) of it surrounded by a lake. It comes with boats that able take the customers around the lake from this shopping mall. Helpful? Thank Amyrasha Report 4 of 5 stars Patricia P 1 review “i am staying in the heritage condominium ” i am staying here for one year, this place is just few walks from my condominium , it means i always go to this shopping mall for eating. this shopping mall provides a lot of restaurants from the cheapest until the expensive ( not really ) . there are McDonalds, KFC, Texas chicken for junk food lovers. this shopping mall. if you are looking for calm area, you can go outside of this shopping mall and you will find man-made lake and you could be having nice vacation with your family by having short boat around the lake area . :)

Food Scene

“Amazing Authentic Arab food” This restaurant is definitely the best restaurant that serves arab (yemeni) food in my opinion. I have been to many arab restaurants and this is by far the best. i recommend any arab that feels homesick to, at least, visit this restaurant once during their time in Malaysia. “Nasi Arab Madness” Me and my friends love lamb kabsah and rosted chicken here. Compliment it with Arab mint tea. A must try! The price is reasonable. A good place for lunch with your friends. “Fits my taste buds” I like eating here. The rice is flavourful and its the best Yemeni eatery I've been to. The khabsa lamb and oqda lamb (with hummus and rice) are excellent choices. The lamb soup (berma lamb) is also excellent as the soup is delicious and the meat aplenty (the most meat in a soup that I've ever seen... eating the soup alone will fill you - just make sure to tell the waiter you don't want the accompanying bread in case you just want to have the soup) - The bread is great as well btw. Quite big for non-Arabs I'd say :) “Do not miss the grilled fish” Went with a friend who has been raving about the grilled fish there. Was not disappointed. It's located in 'Little Arab' in Serdang/ Sri Kembangan and the ambience is nothing to shout about. But it was crowded, mostly by the Arabs who stay around the place. We ordered the chicken and lamb kebabs, grilled fish, salad and the arabic bread. Both the kebabs were well made, tasty and succulent. Good but not spectacular. The grilled fish was fantastic. Well grilled and marinated. With a dash of lime, the taste is amazing. Also try their lime juice with mint. Fantastic. Their Arabic tea was also the best i've tasted. Cannot go wrong with this restaurant. “Good food....not the flies” Visited for lunch with friends, the food was great, the price as well, the experience would have been event great had the flies been sorted out, spent too much of my time shooing away them. We decided to go for the kabsa rice with lamb, mendi rice with lamb, the mix grill, salad ,lamb curry and a huge flatbread. The quantity was great and we had some food left, “Wonderful Syrian food at reasonable price.” if you like original middle eastern food at low price try this place. The bread is fantastic. The rices are great and the portions are huge. try Oqda Lamb or Oqda chicken they are great. don't go too late cause they might run out of some of the choices. probably don't be there later than 9:00 pm “Business lunch ” I read so much of the review of this restaurant. Finally todsy one if my customer brought me here and I must say the food are really delicious. I was told Arabian food is not nice but this is well beyond my expectations. I will defiantly come back for more. The meals we had all five of us are Mandy with Roasted chicken , roasted siakap fish , one kind of sweet dessert with cream on top and made from dates and also the double double Arabs bread. Tasted like roti canai minus the greasiness. This is highly recommended for food. I would agreed with someone who wrote earlier the environment and seating are not so conducive. After all if you are looking for good food. Let's your stomach do the talking. “Best Arabic food in the area” The food is delicious and cheap, environment is ok and also clean, you should definitely try the bread and soup they serve. The Arabic mint tea after the meal could be a very nice option. Take note " the tea is sweet" , tell them no sugar if you don't like it that way... “Great Arabic food, the only good one around these areas with a very convenient price.” Recommend anyone to come to this restaurant if they are looking for the best Arabic food in KL in my opinion. As I lived in Saudi, this reminds me of something like home. Something special which all other Arab restaurants don't have in Malaysia. And at a very affordable price. the only problem will be the seating and design of the restaurant, but if you want to please your stomach and not your eyes, then visit this restaurant . Came here many times for lunch and still the choice for halal middle east/arab meal. Run by all middle eastern guys in at least 2 adjoining and one in opposite shop lots with separate seating (by curtain) for male/female/family. Completely authentic Yemeni menu cooked fresh (you can see the grille in front). Portion is for middle easterners so malaysian might consider sharing if small eater. Also come early before 2pm for lunch as most of them (many middle easterners staying around here)lunch after 2pm.
