There is another great hike close by, the Woodland Interpretive Trail that takes about an hour and gives great views of the lake. The parking lot requires a pass, but you can park on the road near the entrance.

You can find the trailhead on the north shore - you'll need a discovery pass to use the lot, or park on the side of the road. Not too steep, you get great views of the lake. It's a long hike, so turn around when you feel like it - but try to make it to the scenic viewpoint.
