Nothing compares with stargazing into a clear night sky. The Torrance Barrens is a designated dark area located off highway 169 between Gravenhurst and Bala. Aimed at star gazers and astronomers alike, there is no light pollution here to help you look into the celestial night. It's really quite a sight for the naked eye, or if you have a telescope or binoculars handy, it'll be quite the astronomers feast. We suggest going out during the day to walk the trails and get familiar with the terrain which helps when going back in the middle of the night.
