Spectacular beach for a very long walk. Very popular with surfers also. Dogs need to be under close control because of nearby Sheep. Look for the remains of the Butterboat on the beach at low tide. The Spanish Armada wrecks are offshore.

A very lovely easy walk around Raghly Harbour. From the harbour you can see almost every bit of Yeats country from Ben Bulben all the way around to Easky and Dunmoran and, on a clear day, Mayo. A new extension to the walk brings you around the West side of Raghly to the spectacular blowhole which is best viewed at high tide.

What a spectacular place. Listed on the World Waterfall Database as Ireland's tallest waterfall at 492 ft. The best way to fully experience this place is during absolutely filthy windy rainy weather. Wear a mac and prepare for a short climb (approx 45 mins up). There's a Bear Cave! The waterfall is upside down! It's completely mad. Then up the road 5 mins to Glencar Tea Shed for tea and cake. The Queen Maeve Trail is a 3.5 hour hike right around the base of Knocknarea- start at Primrose Grange Car Park. A nice easy hike with lovely views of Strandhill and then up a set of wooden steps to the summit. Not for the faint hearted! Spectacular sights at the top. PLEASE DO NOT CLIMB THE CAIRN! Then the trail descends the other side and brings you back to your car. It's quite long and tough in spots so wear proper hiking boots. Probably not great for very small children.
