Some of the more interesting spots to eat or go to near by.
The food is not health minded. But good for ones in need of the best burger, onion rings or Prime rib. They have a small store to fill in for some items, beer, wine some food, etc... plus fishing supplies and souvenirs.
Classic rustic Bar with history and humor all over the walls. This was a common stop as a Hotel, restaurant and gas station in the day when coming up the grade from Bishop was an adventure.
You'll get friendly service and sometime a little guff. Its part of the country feel. Just relax and enjoy yourself without any expectations.

The Lake has a marina and boat launch. You can get your fishing License and enjoy all the fishing you want in the area. there are lakes everywhere to hike or drive to and rivers and streams to your hearts content.

I cant get enough of this. The bakery is out of this world. But get a turkey sandwich from the back, They slice it off a fresh cooked turkey as if its the day after thanksgiving. The Veggy sandwich is good choice also.

Trails to hike
These are some of my favorites. But explore as I'm still finding new corners to go around.
A spectacular hike. Higher elevation but worth every step. There are lakes, water falls and river scenes. Your camera won't stop. Fishing and fly fishing is a must.

There are trail heads across the Pine drive turn. As well as some off the dirt road to the north of the cabin. Walk and you will find.

Many areas to hike from here. You can drive to Lake Mary, or down to Reds Meadow to see Rainbow falls and Devils Post pile. All easy day hikes.

A very strenuous hike. Out past Rovana. Down the hill from the cabin. Worth it if your up to it. Many water falls, river and lakes. If you keep going overnight or more. You end up at upper rock creek and Mosquito flats. A good two to three day hike
