Great spot to warm up, have a beer and soak up the West Coast vibe. The Renfrew Pub is the homey gathering place for locals and visitors at the heart of Snuggery Cove. Friendly and inviting, it’s the sort of place even first-timers swear they’ve been before. The waterfront pub and restaurant occupies an enviable spot, right next to the dock. The great room — with cathedral ceiling, gleaming 10-tap draught system, pool table and flat screen TVs — offers up micro-brews, tasty fare, and nautical charm.

Super Quaint Cafe & Coffee shop on the road to the West Coast Beaches - Phil the Owner greets everyone. Great coffee, snacks and sandwiches! From the NY Times" “Inside a tiny, A-frame building there was a chaotic blend of packed-to-capacity tables, a buzzing kitchen and an endless line of beaming customers. Phil, the South African proprietor, made coffee while shouting names of customers he knows as if they’re long-lost pals. The food was a memorable taste sensation, beyond everything for miles around."

Dubbed the “Cathedral Grove of Port Renfrew,” Avatar Grove is a unique clutch of old growth in the Gordon River Valley. The focus of efforts to preserve its arboreal riches, it’s home to giant red cedar and rare Douglas fir. If you go, keep an eye out for “Canada’s Gnarliest Tree” — a whimsical knot of twisted cedar. A magical place to peace out and leave your real-world avatar behind.
