Manly’s Beaches

There are so many beaches to choose from, whether you want waves or something quieter for the kids there is one to suit you.
Manly’s main beach, to get there from the house you turn left out of the gate and walk to the next cross street (Redall St) then turn left again, walk down the stairs and you’re there. No roads to cross and a great view from the top of the stairs.

A 15min walk from the house, there is a cafe at the beach selling milkshakes, hot chips, bacon and egg rolls, coffee, ice creams etc. This is a calm harbour side beach with an enclosed swimming area and jumping platform. Located on Stuart Street, Manly. Turn right out of the house, walk to Darley Rd and then turn left to walk up the hill. Cross over the road and take the second right ‘Marshall Street’ and follow that to the end.

The beach to the left of the wharf also known as “The office” by locals, is often packed with people picnicking and enjoying the views of the wharf, and moored boats. It is family friendly and a great place to sit and take it all in.

This is a little more secluded. If you have young kids it is best to get the bus up the hill direction north head. The beach is only accessible by walking or driving down an 800m track. Parking is limited. Go up the hill on Darley Rd, then take a right down Collins Beach Rd, follow to the end.

Located at the end of a pedestrian walkway called Marine Parade, which begins at the southern end of Manly beach. It is more sheltered than Manly’s main beach and an amazing place to dive and snorkel, and explore the wonders of Cabbage Tree Bay Aquatic Reserve. The Boathouse cafe is there for food and drinks. We highly recommend doing this! It is just beautiful.
