Pahang history, particularly with regard to its ancient kings, is well documented in the museum. The museum building was the residence of the first British Resident in Perak, and dated 1880. Since that time, the building was used as headquarters of the Armed Forces of Japan during the Japanese occupation and later, as a Palace official al-late Sultan Abu Bakar.
