Food Scene

I'm biased, because I work here, but the steaks, fresh fish and local beers are awesome! Friendly, cosy and with a stunning picture window over the beach. Check out the webcam for a sneak preview www.pentrearms.co.uk

Chippy on one side and restaurant on the other side. Home-made salads, burgers, vegan and veggie options. Something different, but also basics for kids. Great cakes and coffee!

Parks & Nature

Referred to in lots of articles/websites as 'secret beach, this is unfortunately no longer so much of a secret – but its inaccessibility means you can still find peace and quiet here. Walk south on the coastal path from Llangrannog and you can see Carreg y Ty from the path. When you reach the bridge over the steep ravine, carry on down to the beach instead. It's a bit of a scramble but worth it for the pristine sweep of the bay. Carreg y Ty (house rock) has a cave running through it. To the south is Carreg y Nodwydd (needle rock). Wildlife abounds. Watch out as it can be a bit of a nudie beach in warm weather! Snorkelling over Carreg y Morwynion is recommended. Isolated, so do take care.

Arts & Culture

Sea & Slate Gallery is located just up the road from the Ship Inn and sells artworks and craft items made exclusively by local artists. I show my jewellery work here. Ideal for gifts and cards. Tiny but beautiful!

Essentials

The local garage and mini-market selling pretty much everything you could need. Run by a lovely local family and sells lots of local goodies, including welsh cakes and bread from the in-house bakery. Fresh food, alcohol, magazines and papers etc. A better bet than the village shop for essentials.

Entertainment & Activities

Every Welsh schoolchild visits the Gwersyll for activity weeks. Leaflets available locally (or the website) will let you know when you can use the facilities – dry ski slope, pool, karting, gym and much more. Stunning views.
