This is a fairly straightforward walk as it has a path and steps, but has a couple at areas of significant gradient. If you are fairly fit it’s not too challenging. Can be a little slippy as there can be leaf litter on the path so wear walking shoes. The rainforest here is stunning. The waterfall not easy to swim in, but fabulous to get into to cool down.

This is a slightly tricky walk, but essentially not difficult. There is a bit of rock hopping and crossing the creek a couple of times. I wear walking sandals as you can get wet feet crossing the creek, but walking shoes are Okay if you don’t mind them possibly getting wet. I wouldn’t recommend thongs/flip flops. The water hole at the base of the waterfall is spectacularly beautiful. We always get there by 7:30am, leave by 12 noon, to avoid the crowds and have the place to yourself at this increasingly popular swimming spot.

Gibraltar Range National Park, Needles Walk is spectacular. Visit mid October to see the Waratahs. Starting near Mulligans campground and picnic area, The Needles walking track is a great family outing and a chance to walk part of the popular Gibraltar-Washpool World Heritage walk. Follow signs from the picnic area to the historic Mulligans Hut, about 50m, where the walk begins. Keep an eye out for resident wallabies around the hut, before crossing Little Dandahra Creek near one of the weirs built by Bill Mulligan in the 1920s.
