Offerta gastronomica

Family-run restaurant, Marco in the kitchen and Loretta in the dining room, serve typical dishes of the Romagna cuisine: platters of cheeses, cold cuts, also of own production, accompanied by piadina and fried pizza and croutons with liver or mushrooms or truffles. The first courses are strictly handmade and rolled with a rolling pin, as the Italian tradition dictates. During the winter months, the small room with a lit fireplace is characteristic. In the summer it is possible to eat in the square.

Visite turistiche

It is an ancient defensive bulwark wanted by Maghinardo Pagani, built in 1290 and rebuilt in 1850, the year in which his particular clock with a dial that counts only six hours (instead of twelve!) Was installed. To reach the Clock Tower there is a path of 350 steps, but it will be worth it because during the climb you will be able to admire many views of the surrounding valley. Once up there you can admire a magnificent view over the whole of Brisighella.

Via degli Asini, the only example of an elevated medieval street in the whole of Europe, incorporated into a building. This unique road in the world was built in the fourteenth century for defensive purposes, while it was subsequently used by the rogues to transport the chalk from the quarries with the help of donkeys. The latter stopped right in this street and their stables were located at the height of each lunette. Hence the name Via degli Asini.

The building stands on one of the chalk pinnacles that dominate the village and can be reached on foot in about 10 minutes starting from the Clock Tower, by car, or directly from the historic center, following a well-indicated path. The fortress was built in the fourteenth century by the Manfredi family from Faenza and can also be visited inside by paying a ticket (which also includes access to the town's civic museum). Here you can in fact walk on the external walkway enjoying a spectacular view and visit the furnished rooms, such as the kitchens and the master's bedroom. The path in the dungeons on the lower floor is also beautiful, where you can experience the immersive experience that simulates an attack on the fortress thanks to the sound effects.

From the Rocca you can also reach the third hill in a few minutes, dominated by the Sanctuary of Monticino. The uphill path is really short and, after a few meters of asphalt, it plunges back into nature, until it takes you in front of the 18th century Sanctuary.

Brisighella is the setting for a rich calendar of events throughout the year. There are many festivals dedicated to good food and excellent wine, such as mutton, lamb, or Moretto artichoke. Dinners in the village, Goblets under the Hills, Romanesque Night and many other events that are organized. Not to be missed, certainly is the Medieval Festival of Brisighella. The event is held in June, and together with archers, falconers and fighters, we embark on a real journey into the Middle Ages for an extraordinary historical reinterpretation.

The territory of Brisighella and the surrounding area is characterized by two elements: the gullies, rock formations eroded by the wind over the centuries and by the "gypsum vein", formations of this material present throughout Italy but which has surfaced here in a very more evident. So unique as to be protected with the creation of the Vena del Gesso Regional Park. Luxuriant nature, animal species, caves to visit and streams make it a perfect place for a regenerating holiday. The center offers numerous services for the visitor: the information point of the Parco della Vena del Gesso Romagnola, the conference room, the "Stanza del Clima" teaching room and the naturalistic museum dedicated to the fauna of the Vena del Gesso, which houses finds of almost all the most interesting animal species of the park, including wolf, porcupine, eagle owl, peregrine falcon, blue rock thrush. Services offered: guesthouse, bar-restaurant, guided tours, classroom and museum.
