Beaches

Local beaches we use and recommend. They’re in order of proximity to the house. There are loads more beaches on the island, it’s just these are the ones we use more regularly
Great beaches around a shallow water bay. There are 2 main beaches which are Little beach - Traeth Bach and Big beach - Traeth Mawr. The café and toilet are on the big beach. The little beach is great for collecting sea glass.

This bay is about 10 min drive from the house. Parking is free and is next to the pebble beach (no sand there). The water goes quite deep quite quickly, it’s a long beach with a lagoon. The lagoon is a bird sanctuary though so it’s not available for use and dogs are to be kept on a lead. The beach is fairly sheltered when wind is from a southern direction, but not northerly. About 30 min drive away from the house. Parking overlooks the Sandy beach. It’s a sheltered bay from northerly and southerly winds. It has clear deep water, rocky outcrops and is great for for snorkelling. Usually there is van where you can hire a SUP (paddle board) and a trailer café It’s pay and display parking, it was cash and card but its also on a parking app now. It’s about £5 for 6 hr parking. Less then 6 hours is £1 / hr

Access to the parking next to the beach is £5, there is a public toilet and usually an ice cream van or burger van. If the wind is blowing from the north or east this is an ideal sheltered beach.
