Bilmore Village is a jog or short drive away (2.8 Miles). Biltmore Village is a charming, leafy enclave created to house employees of George Vanderbilt’s sprawling Biltmore Estate, which includes an art-filled 1895 mansion and a winery offering tastings and tours. The Cathedral of All Souls is a Romanesque Revival landmark, while stuccoed cottages contain jewelry stores, galleries, and upscale boutiques. Farm-to-table restaurants, cafes, and craft breweries dot the area.

More travelers get on and off the Blue Ridge Parkway in Asheville than anywhere else along the scenic road. Access by car is about 3 miles away and 1/2 mile away by foot. The Blue Ridge Parkway, known as “America’s Favorite Drive,” runs north and south from Asheville with plenty of long-range mountain views, spots for roadside picnics,, breathtaking vistas, easy to difficult hiking trails, and a reprieve from commercialism. This 469-mile, non-stop recreational motor road is part of the U.S. National Park System and managed by the National Park Service (NPS).

Breweries

"Asheville's Original Brewery" Another very close destination that shouldn't be missed (2.4 miles away). Highland Brewing Company began as a small micro brewery in the heart of Downtown Asheville. Now, it housed in a much larger facility, once home to a film production studio, that produces 60,000 barrels annually, with room to grow. You can get a tour of the production facility (check on availability due to COVID-19), reserve a state of the art volleyball court for fun in the sun, see an indoor or outdoor concert with nationally touring artists or just enjoy a delicious beverage at the newly built rooftop bar. A nice escape from the downtown brewery scene, often occupied with locals taking advantage of their sprawling outdoor spaces. Locally produced, gluten-free alcoholic beverages available.

Multi-award winning brewery, Hillman Beer, is the second closest brewery and has great food to accompany their German-style of brewing. Plenty of outdoor seating, very friendly service and top notch beverages make this a perfect place to chat with locals or recall the beautiful day you just had. Locally produced, gluten-free alcoholic beverages and local non-alcoholic beverages available.

Home to the very recognizable craft beer brand's second main location, New Belgium Brewing is a short 8 miles away and at the base of the vibrant West Asheville business district and River Arts District. Tours are on hold currently, due to the COVID-19 issue, but visit their website for up-to-date availabilities. Highly recommend this brewery for hanging out near the river while experiencing what large scale craft beer production looks like. Food trucks and live music often.

Live Music/Entertainment

One of Rolling Stone Magazine's favorite music venues in America is located 4.6 miles away and never disappoints. It is located steps away from the center of Downtown Asheville and appropriately situated among James Beard Award winner/nominated restaurants and a plethora of unique shopping opportunities. Feel free to drive to downtown in minutes or arrange an Uber to make it completely effortless. During the busy months, parking is slightly more challenging downtown, so I'd recommend hired transportation.

Food & Bev (Locally Famous)

Venture over to West Asheville to eat at one of my favorite, more upscale dining options. Jargon is a short 7.8 miles away, and exploding with culinary creativity. Killer cocktails and explained as "casual, cozy and romantic", and I'd have to agree. There is also an outdoor option in the rear of the restaurant that I love for weekend brunch, often offering light live music to accompany. They take reservations as well.
