Awesome brunch! And family friendly. Call ahead and download the app so you can wait in line from home or a local coffee shop. Don't forget their sister restaurant, Street'za - a pizza place with an expanding menu and brunch option.

This is an excellent restaurant for high quality food and to try some new things. They are obviously famous for oysters but also their pasta and charcuteries are superior. They have a quality beer, wine and drink menu.

Sightseeing

Prescott Park Arts Festival is our favorite part of the summer in Portsmouth! The Seussical is the play this year. Music several nights a week this summer. Food available on site, or bring a picnic. There are also gorgeous gardens through the Prescott Park area - it's a must see while in Portsmouth.

The Gundalow is an excellent way to get out on the river and enjoy the sights of the Piscataqua. You can book tickets for the sunset cruise online at http://www.gundalow.org/sail-with-us/public-sails/. This is a BYO friendly experience - bring drinks and a picnic and experience a really cool replica sailing ship. It leaves from downtown, Prescott Park. It is about a 20 minute walk - parking can be more than challenging in this area so we definitely recommend walking (or Uber!).

Parks & Nature

This is one of the best beaches. Get there early (like really early!) for metered parking, otherwise it's street parking and you need to be sure your car is completely off the road (inside the white line) to avoid ticketing. Summer Sessions surf shop offers food and coffee, and if you're adventurous surf and paddle board rentals. This is definitely a place to check out if you want to surf.

New Castle Commons is a nice beach, park and playground area for cooling off in the summer. They rake the beach every day so there is generally very little seaweed (which is nice for beach goers). There is a fee ($4 per person). And beware of the super seagulls that hang out there - they are aggressive so make sure any food is protected. There are picnic tables and charcoal grills (BYO charcoal) available there as well. It is a really beautiful place - views of lighthouse, across the river to Kittery's Fort Foster.
