If you have time and love great Tasmanian produce then it is well worth a trip to the Tasmanian Food and Wine Conservatory. Everything on the menu is great and the chefs do a great job of highlighting Tasmania's great produce. The platters are amazing and take your tastebuds on a journey around our great state. We would recommend calling in advance and booking a table as it is popular (for good reason).

Parks & Nature
We love our local National park. It has some amazing walks that reward you with spectacular views. Some walks also take you to the beach which you will often have to yourself. The wildlife is everywhere and if you go at dusk the plains come alive with more animals then you can count with an amazing sunset backdrop. If you go in business hours the ranger office is open and they can help you make the most of your time here.

Hawley Beach (which then turns into Freers Beach and then Port Sorell) is where we spend most of our time. If you head to the norther end of Hawley you can take a short walk out to the point and this is where you will see little penguins coming home at dusk from October through to March.
At low tide you are able to walk to two small islands.
There is a path that starts at Freers Beach and continues all the way to Port Sorell which is great for a lovely walk or jog. There is a park for the kids at Freers Beachjust near the surf club.
