“Considered the best bread you'll find in Mexico City and a lovely eclectic space to dine in. I go there often for treats like cinnamon rolls or baguettes. The baguette with ham and butter is amazing. It can be quite the scene on weekends. ”

“A definite cocktail scene, Xaman sets out to have one of the best cocktail menus in the city. Try out drinks made with tea, wild herbs, and fresh fruit juices, like the pale pink Piedra del Mar shaken hard with egg whites and the pulp of tuna fruit. The classics are a wise choice too, like the thyme-infused Moscow Mule. Come here for a nice cocktail at the end of the day, to start a night out, or to simply see what's going on at the forefront of Mexico City's cocktail scene. ”

Café
“The Juárez outlet of this much-lauded bakery is set inside an old townhouse with high ceilings, a wooden balcony and a pretty garden. Pastries and breads are made fresh daily and span conchas(sweet buns), “peasant” bread, focaccia, cinnamon rolls, bolillos (crusty rolls) and baguettes. Their coffee, said to be the best in town, is sourced from organic small-scale Mexican producers. In a city that’s still catching up with others in terms of coffee culture, this is one of your best options to linger, work, meet for lunch and then stroll around the surrounding colonia.”

“This is my favorite restaurant around. It is not precisely a restaurant, but as they call it a "Cafebrería". You can chose to sit on a regular table or on a couch. My personal preference is to go for a table for dinning and for a couch just for coffee and chat. They also have a good selection of teas and cocktails if you feel like having a drink any time of the day. The menu is very original. If you like books, then you will love their creative combinations. They use the names of authors and books to come up with the name of the dishes. No matter what time it is you can still order breakfast. They have "desayunos nocturnos" (night breakfast), which are great to eat informally.”

“HAVRE 77 $$$ A beautiful dining room on what may be the city’s hippest half-block. Just a smattering of tables (reservations are recommended) and a handsome old-style bar inhabit two rooms and a tiny terrace in a fabulous fin de siècle mansion whose feel is still contemporary; couples favor the restaurant for its romantic, indulgent atmosphere. A pared-down menu hints at the approach: quality over quantity in Gallic standards like onion soup, oysters, a buttery steak frites, duck confit; all ingredients are excellent, leveraging the best of Mexican farms and ranches. Near perfect yet never fussy.”
