“From Sandy point, head east along Sandy Point road until you reach the beach. Turn right onto the beach. Summer period sees a fee to drive your vehicle on the beach. A great shallow body of water for boating (launching off the beach, be careful of tides), kayaking, wind/kite surfing, beach activities, fishing and dune surfing. A beach walk around the point will get you out to the open ocean beach. Toilets and camp tables on the right at the beginning of the beach access.”

“This is a relaxing walk with plenty of birds around. The walk starts at the parking lot next to the Yanakie caravan park. If you start with the beach part first, make sure to keep an eye out for the little track that leads you trough the shrubs back to the parking lot. We came across a few other "tourists" who were looking for the track back and we all had passed it without noticing it as there are no signs. I would recommend to go trough the shrubs first, looks like a tunnel at the entrance of the car park and when reaching the beach turn right and you can't go wrong. There were quite a few flies around, so apply some aeroguard or bushmans. But nice and easy going walk with great views. Best at low tide.”
