Best things to do in Viena

Palace
“Very touristy, I have to admit. But also still the most beautiful park in Vienna, my favourite place to go for a run as well or just sit down in a nice corner and read a great book. There is a very nice café really close called Café Nook.”

Museo de arte
“A visit to these marble halls, painstakingly decorated with frescoes and gold leaf, is an extraordinary experience. Between the KHM and its mirror the Natural History museum, a statue of Maria Theresia watches over the treasures within,From a vast coin collection and unforgettable pieces of ancient Egyptian and Greek art, to rooms dedicated to great European masters, it's a treasure trove of art history. You'll find Roger van der Weyden's Crucifixion triptych, a Memling altarpiece, and Janvan Eyck's portrait of Cardinal Albergati. The picture gallery takes visitors through 16th- and 17th-century works by German, Dutch, Flemish, and Italian greats. Among them, Pieter Bruegel the Elder, Van Dyck, and Dürer.”

“Have a walk through the royal gardens of the Belvedere (parts of it are located in the 4th district however a majority in the 3rd). Once you are finished, head over to the Botanical Gardens (5-10 minutes walk from the Belvedere depending where you are starting from). It is a peaceful oasis to relax and take in nature's beauty!”

“he Albertina not only has the largest and most valuable graphical collections in the world, with works such as Dürer’s “Hare” and Klimt's studies of women. Its latest exhibition collection presents masterpieces of the Modern, spanning Monet to Picasso and Baselitz. As the largest Habsburg residential palace, the Albertina dominates the southern tip of the Imperial Palace on one of the last remaining fortress walls in Vienna.”

“This used to be the "working place" of emperor Franz Joseph II. The place can be visited now and also houses some nice museums such as e.g. a Sissi (empress Elisabeth) museum and the treasure collection of the Habsburg family.”

Museum
“The history of the earth and the breathtaking variety of nature can be practically experienced due to 20 million objects: From insects to gemstones and minerals and pterodactyls, the Habsburgs united everything under the roof of this museum near the Imperial Palace. Numerous taxidermy specimens of animals that are either extinct or threatened with extinction make the collection all the more valuable.”

“Part of the imperial summer residence of Schönbrunn, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the world's oldest zoo is indeed an unforgettable experience, and one that no visitor to Vienna should miss. “An absolute must on your list of things to do is visit Schweizerhaus. They are well known for their hearty food and beer. They have a nice outdoor area but reservations are a must in the summer months! If you come to Vienna, you must try a schnitzel but equally as important is a Schweizerhaus Stelze! It is a crispy knuckle of pork that can be shared with a partner.”

“Like the coolest club in town for me. Still for me. Most people blame the new owner for the bar losing its hipster style and yadi yada. If you wanna party three days straight or just after hour until 3 pm. this is the place to be.”
