Barrio
“This relaxed neighbourhood with a small-town vibe is a top summer destination, drawing families and tourists to its sandy beaches and quaint boardwalk. Vibrant Queen Street East features colourful shops, intimate bistros and hip bars, along with homey bakeries and ice cream parlours. Kew Gardens park offers skating and tennis, and hosts The Beaches International Jazz Festival. Our favourite restaurant in the upper beaches is Budapest (a small authentic Hungarian spot) with the best chicken paprikash and nokedli. Our favourite take out in the lower beaches (closer to the water) is Beach Fish Out with take-away lobster rolls, seafood chowder etc. We also love Breakwall BBQ and Smokehouse - slow-smoked local meats & a full menu of comfort-food fare in a rustic setting.”

Castillo
“This castle was originally built by Sir Henry Pellatt, a wealthy financier from Toronto. He is most notably remembered for his role in brining hydroelectricity to the city for the first time. At the time of building this home, it was the largest residence in all of Canada. Sadly, at the time of his death he was nearly broke. The home has been restored by the city and now serves as a museum, event venue and historical site. It's truly a breathtaking place to visit offering views of the city skyline and beautiful grounds to enjoy.”
