Lugares emblemáticos en Tennessee

Museum
“This is easily the best museum we have ever been to. This was the motel Dr. Martin Luther King was shot at, in 1968. Converted to a museum inside, the exterior still looks just like the motel. The National Civil Rights Museum is a complex of museums and historic buildings in Memphis; its exhibits trace the history of the Civil Rights Movement in the US from the 17th century to the present.”

Sala de conciertos
“Several times a week, the Grand Ole Opry takes place as a showcase of the best country, bluegrass, and folk bands in the country. The night GP caught it on a visit back to the Ryman, she saw the amazing Emmylou Harris, Carrie Underwood, and Vince Gill, just to give you an idea of the kind of all-star casts the Opry always hosts. The entire show is broadcast live on WSM-AM at 7 p.m. and is the longest-running radio show in history. ”

“ the venue that started it all. It was the Ryman -- “the Mother Church of Country Music” -- that first started attracting names like Hank Williams, Dolly Parton, and George Jones, securing Nashville’s status as the American center of country music. The Ryman remains a country music mecca, but as one of the city’s most dazzling concert-going experiences, has also hosted everyone from the Foo Fighters to Janelle Monae. Even if you don’t make it to a concert, it’s at least worth taking the time for a brief tour. Check their homepage for concerts and dates.”

“Original home of the Grand Ole Opry and host of many of today's greatest talents, there is no greater live music venue in the world. If walls could talk! If you are here in winter months, try to catch the Opry at the Ryman, a true treasure!”

Monumento / Lugar emblemático
“Closed to automobile traffic in 1998, the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge provides outstanding views of the Cumberland River and the Nashville skyline. The bridge connects downtown Nashville with the suburb of East Nashville, and is a reliable way to cross the river. It brings out the inner photographer in most tourists, as various points along the bridge allow travelers to capture different angles of Nashville.”

“Part of the Chickamauga-Chattanooga National Military Park, these grounds commemorate the "Battle Above the Clouds" that was fought on Lookout Mountain in 1863. Worth the drive to the top of Lookout Mountain. The views and overlooks are breathtaking, especially with the fall colors. Parking fee is $3 and entry to the park is $7 per person.”

“This is an upbeat bar with dancing later on in the evenings! They often have themed DJs. It's right next to Dino's, so these two together make a good 1-2 punch combo for a local night out.”
