“Located in Steamboat Springs. Day or moonlit night, this is a great place to snowshoe, XC Ski, walk dogs, and ride fat bikes. If you aim for the service tower up top you will have the most amazing views. To the tower and back is approx. 1.5 hour trek, was perfect for me! GETTING THERE: This trailhead doesn't have an address. The easiest way to get there is to put Bud Werner Library into GPS (1289 Lincoln Ave) then instead of turning into Library parking lot, keep going straight and turn left on Gilpin St, then left on Saratoga, then right on Routt Street. You will see several cars parked looping along the curved road. If you get lost ask a local as they are walking all around the area. ”

“Little Toots Park is located right next to our Library. Stop inside to pick up a brochure for a historic natural springs tour. The area in and around this part is the most historic site of the whole town! There are several natural springs within walking distance that are pretty cool to see. Don't forget to see the actual Steamboat Spring! This natural spring is what our town is named after! Fur trappers that came to this area in the 1800's and thought they heard a steamboat. They soon discovered that it was this spring making a chugging sound. Many people overlook this area, but you can see for yourself why some of us find it is so special!”
