“Enjoy the architecture of the University of Stellenbosch, then take a stroll through the botanical garden, home of Victorian water-lilies, extensive bonsai collections, 4 greenhouses and some of the tallest trees in the world. “"The Rustenberg Estate stands on an impressive 880 hectares against the iconic Simonsberg Mountain in Stellenbosch. When standing in the high vineyards of the Estate, the entire vista of Stellenbosch is revealed, with a glimpse of Table Mountain in the distance. The Schoongezicht garden is situated next to the Cape Dutch homestead Schoongezicht, which dates back to 1814. The garden is open to the public during the week from 09h30 – 16h30 and on Saturdays and Sundays until 15h00. Visitors are welcome to wander up to our tasting centre to enjoy our wines." Rustenberg was awarded National Heritage Site status in December 2004." http://www.rustenberg.co.za/”

“Located 25 km from De Velde Estate one finds Stark-Condé Wines in the picturesque Jonkershoek Valley in Stellenbosch. It is a dramatic valley with steep changes in vineyard elevation from 150 to 600 meters, making for a range of sites with distinct characteristics. Their wines are hand-crafted in small volumes using traditional methods: hand sorting, open-top fermentations, hand punch-downs and manual basket pressing. All the Stark-Condé wines are bottled without fining and filtration. The higher elevations and textured soils of the Jonkershoek Valley are ideal for Cabernet Sauvignon and other Bordeaux varietals. Jonkershoek wines are often described as elegant and soft.”

Sendero
“his short, but intense, MTB trail is extremely popular (it takes just over two minutes, at a speed of 22 km/h to complete). Interestingly the track is shaped by a cyclist / skateboarder called Mark Gordon (you will find him at Mason's Bike Inn in Stellenbosch) who allegedly does this of his own free will (unfunded), in his own time (paying it forward in the true sense of the word). For help around the corners he suggests on his Facebook page, G-spot trail: 'Think of the trail as the road on Chapmans Peak. You don't go speeding into corners and then brake hard, and then skid into the corner and accelerate out. You feather your brakes so you have the right speed into the corner, then let go a”
