Point of Interest
“A beautiful nature walk near Berry. The view is exceptional! In the winter a walk at sunrise and you see the lyrebirds calling and performing. You’ll need to be relatively fit to get up the mountain and there are steep cliffs at the top so not good for small children.”

“We used to live in Kangaroo Valley and this was a favourite of ours. Lots of space indoors and a playground in the beer garden for the kids. Have the nachos. Top tip: Thursday is "locals night" which means free snacks!”

“Highly renown french patisserie and bakery with people travelling great distances to take home the pastries. Always a line in the bowral store on the weekend but Mittagong (closed Sundays I think) and Berrima outlets are also an option.”

“Centennial Vineyards is about cool climate grape growing and winemaking. The vines ripen with lower temperatures than most Australian wine regions. Because the climate is colder, vines ripen the fruit much more slowly and evenly than in warm regions, producing balanced, aromatic fruit. All wines are crafted on site in the state-of-the-art winery, allowing the production of quality cool-climate wines, with maximum aroma and flavour and presented at their optimum bottle age. Their vines in Bowral are planted over 80 acres consisting of Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Gris, Albariño, Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir, Gewürztraminer, Grüner Veltliner and Tempranillo. Establishment
“Fitzroy Falls Visitor Centre is located a short walk from the magnificent Fitzroy Falls, where water plunges over 80m (when we have had some rain) to the valley below. It’s an ideal base to explore the lush escarpment country of the Southern Highlands between Robertson and Nowra. Remember to take your binoculars if you want to birdwatch, although Lyrebirds are often spotted as you stroll along the tracks on your way to the falls (we are yet to spot a Platypus!). It can be a busy place on the weekend, so parking might be limited ($4).”

Restaurante
“The best time to go is when you have a craving for good, tasty and fresh Thai food. Also great for Western bacon and eggs for week-end breakfast. Licensed and BYO (wine only-with corkage). If you like fish...go for the fish fillet with your choice of sauce.”
