“Sheffield's Botanical Gardens are lovely in summer, can drive or get the bus there - you must pay for parking on the street however. There is a grand indoor temperate house with various tropical and succulent plants inside - year round. The grounds are meticulously up-kept - great for picnics or a stop off before going into town. There is also an old bear pit inside the park strangely enough which is worth a visit. Located in the leafy, affluent area near bustling Ecclesal Road which is also perfect for drinks and food. ”

“Great play park for children, good robust cafe food but if you follow the Porter Brook river which runs through Endcliffe park and keep walking following the path, in about an hour or two you will find yourself in open countryside. From city to the edge of the Peaks by foot, magic. ”

“Burbage Edge is a local treasure not far from the garden loft in the car - approx 15 mins drive. Can also be reached by bus. Packed with great walks and rambles - also a very popular climbing location - but be careful. Dog friendly area too but there are livestock roaming free. Really recommend this area! ”

“A great dayout with the kids as this massive park has both an animal farm and a huge adventure playground. Adults will enjoy the crisp air on top of the hill with stunning view anytime of the day while the kids emmersing themselves in outdoor play. The cafe next to the playground comes handy for a cuppa or snacks for the seemingly always hungry kiddos. ”
