Canal Lock
“Ballard Locks is a great place park not only to stroll around and enjoy its gorgeous trees but also it has a unique view of the opening Puget Sound. You can cross the bridge where fresh water from South Lake meets the salt water of the Puget Sound ocean. Also you can enjoy here the views of the salmon ladder that helps these amazing fishes on their way back to Alaska. ”

“This Ballard park includes wetlands, beaches, hiking trails, and picnic and playground areas. Beware of the steep stairway climb up the hill (great for exercise!) and consider opting instead for parking in the lower parking lots near the beach if you'd like a more casual entry to the park.”
