“First things first: BREAKFAST. ALL. DAY!!! This is rare in Savannah in anything other than a chain diner. Everything's organic, mostly likely locally sourced, and /or made in house. Its also a little more vegetarian leaning on the menu, but don't let that fool you - they do things right, food-wise. In addition to the wildly eclectic vibe, beatnik vibe, they serve a house made breakfast sandwich called The Big Daddy...sigh...it is PERFECTION!!! Scrambled eggs, cheddar, a delicious house made sweet and smoky veggie sausage that you could serve to anyone and they'd **never know** it was plant based, spin/tom/on, and this creamy sauce ties it all together, along with some sriracha on the side, just for kicks. When I am hungry (which is like, every time I go) I get it on a bagel and I leave very satisfied! I probably eat this about once a week, and usually on a Sunday afternoon while knocking out an hour or two of prep work for the week. PS - for those north of 21, Wine and Beer is also available for purchase. ”

“Seventeen seventy-one, the opening of the Habersham House –later called “The Olde Pink House” when the soft native brick began to bleed through the plastered walls and mysteriously changed the color of the Habersham house from white to Jamaican pink. A National Landmark, Savannah’s stately Georgian Mansion facing Reynolds Square has an exciting history. Built on land granted by the crown of England, James Habersham Jr. lived in his mansion from 1771 to 1800. This wealthy planter’s home held many secret meetings which helped to secure the independence of the 13 colonies from England. Again the ageless Halls of Habersham echo the pleasure of dining by candlelight as James Habersham, Jr. enjoyed in 1771. The ghosts of the past walk freely with you on your visit through the elegant rooms, vault wine cellars, up the fine staircases, or down for a drink by the massive Planters Tavern Fires.”

“A food experience to remember! Mrs. Wilkes is the epitome of southern faire in a southern setting. Be prepared to wait outside, in a long line, but be assured the wait is worth it. You will be seated family style (usually tables of 8-14 people). The menu is set and will be ready nearly the moment you arrive. You can expect all the delicacies of the south (fried chicken, bbq pork, okra, potatoes, sweet potatoes, corn, black eye peas, the list goes on and on). Open Monday - Friday 11am-2pm Closed weekends and some holidays CASH ONLY $25 per person with tax, tip not included No reservations We recommended arriving by 10am, at the latest, to try to hit the first seating. We also highly recommend budgeting time for a nap after this amazing southern cuisine experience. If you're interested in the history of the south, Mrs. Wilkes restaurant used to be a boarding house, and they still maintain the tradition of each guest taking their dishes to the kitchen for washing. There are cookbooks and other souvenirs available for purchase as you check out. This is a staple of Savannah and a genuinely southern experience.”
