“This is a 14 hatted restaurant and one of the best dining experiences you can have in Launceston. An elegantly restored 1830s flour mill on the beautiful Tamar River is home to Stillwater, one of Launceston’s finest restaurants. Original Oregon beams and blond timber floors bring warmth to Stillwater’s already majestic setting, comprising of an original bluestone wine cellar, Georgian miller’s cottage for private dining and a courtyard for alfresco drinks and snacks.”

Place to eat
“GREAT coffee! Cafe Mondello is a quaint little cafe, Nice food cooked on site by friendly staff. Cafe Mondello rates extremely well on all of the usual sites 4.7/5, 8/10, 4.2/5 very 'cosy' inside but chairs under the trees and umbrellas outside are great. A must for the coffee lovers, (you should also find a loyalty card in Bluestone Cottage ;) )”

“One of our favourite activities is to see the Penguins come into shore at Low Head. Shirley set up the Penguin Tours over twenty years after a ship crashed into a reef just 5km of the shore of the Tamar River spewing out oil which heavily effected the local fairy penguins. After that day, Shirley runs tours to every evening with a team of young local volunteers to educate people on the little fairy penguins. ”
