“Right next to The Family Park and Zoo in Laugardalur you'll find the less frequently visited inner-city paradise of Grasagarðurinn; the Reykjavík Botanical Gardens. The park is home to over 5,000 different species of plants, as well as an idyllic pavilion-with-a-pond café.”

Erotic Museum
“Perhaps one of the more popular museums around. A museum dedicated to penises is certain to raise an eyebrow or two. The museum contains a collection of more than two hundred and fifteen penises and penile parts belonging to almost all the land and sea mammals that can be found in Iceland. Including a human penis ! ”

“A bit further away but easily reachable by bus, is the biggest swimming pool complex in Reykjavik (and Iceland), Laugardalslaug has an olympic-sized pool, several pots of different temperature, a steambath and a large playing area with kids, including a waterslide. There's also a World Class gym adjacent to it, and a fantastic spa, Laugar (but this comes at an additional, much higher price). Also, the pool is located in Laugardalur valley, a lovely green area where nearby you can find and ice skating rank, the Asmundur Jonsson Art museum and the Reykjavik botanical garden, all clustered in the same area.”

Science Museum
“Whales of Iceland museum features one of the largest whale exhibition in Europe. The whales are presented in a unique and illustrative way. 23 different life-size models that have been seen in Icelandic territorial waters have a permanent home at the museum. The museum is in only 10 minutes walking distance from the city centre but can also be reached by one of the city buses. ”
