“The Queenstown Gardens are just a few minutes walk from central Queenstown and offer a beautiful and tranquil setting away from the hustle and bustle. The landscaped gardens include plenty of places to sit down and admire the beauty of the gardens. Pristine lawns, a large water feature, a wide variety of trees and plants and a rose garden all combine to provide that perfect escape from downtown Queenstown. The gardens also feature a couple of significant memorials.”

“Lovely walk or cycle ride from wanaka out to Glendhu bay, its an intermediate track so you need to be pretty experienced on the bike, otherwise lovely walking track. Head straight down to the lake from the cottage and follow the track to the left along the side of the lake.. stop off at Edgewater resort for a coffee and fresh baked scone or glass of wine. ”

Tienda
“Great little asian supermarket, with Indian, Japanese, Chinese & Korean items available. We love picking an item that we have no idea what it is & trying it - its pretty fun at times! This is how we found Bingrae Semanco - a fish-shaped ice-cream from Korea that was actually quite delicious haha. (Thankfully not fish-flavoured!!)”

“A good medium hike, takes 2-3 hours. See amazing panoramic views, lovely streams & canyons, Sam Summer's historic hut, old gold mine sluicings and even a tunnel cut into rock. Quite pretty in cold weather, as you can see Hoar frost crystals on plants up the top sections.”

“Take the One Mile Creek Track opposite the carpark, up the hill. There is a historical power station on the way, then a lovely stream that goes through small rocky canyons up to a small weir. You won't believe you are so close to Queenstown, as it feels so tranquil! Watch out for mountain bikers on the way, as there are a few tracks that cross the main trail, but they are well sign posted.”
