“Better historic place to visit. In the past the train used to pass through the tunnel. The nature area is amazing.”

“Hiking trails. Make sure you get a trail guide - the trails are old and not all are well maintained and marked!”

Mirador
“Near the entrance to the charming town of Isabela in Puerto Rico, a bust of Cacique Mabodamaca has been carved into a cliff wall as a reminder of the role this well-respected Taino chieftain played in Puerto Rico’s early history. Also, the main roadway, Route #113, connecting Isabela to Quebradillas was recently renamed as "Avenida Cacique Mabodomaca" in his honor.”

Natural Feature
“It is a reservoir located between the municipalities of San Sebastián, Quebradillas, and Isabela in Puerto Rico. This man-made lake was created in 1929. The lake receives flow from the Guajataca River and can be used for fishing. The reservoir provides water to the inhabitants of northwestern Puerto Rico. It is also the location of Camp Guajataca, the island’s main camping grounds of the Boy Scouts of America. The lake area is 10 degrees cooler than the rest of the island and provides year round recreational opportunities and outdoor activities including fishing for bass, tilapia and catfish, kayaking, nature watching and relaxing in general. Fishing can be good at Lake Guajataca, you can catch different typies of fresh water fish, such as, Peacock Bass (Tucunare), Large Mouth Bass (Lobina), Sunfish, Perch (Chopas), Catfish (Barbudo), Tilapias (Tilapias) and Threadfin Shad (Cetin sardina de agua dulce) the last being baitfish. I hope you enjoy the photos. Lago Guajataca was built by the United States Army Corps of Engineers by building a dam across the river Río Guajataca and is owned by the Puerto Rico Electrical Authority. Many schools, businesses, and organizations, including a parador, Boy Scout Camp, and kayak excursion company are named for the area and water way as well. You can enjoy the Puerto Rican cuisine available at the lake’s surroundings.”

“Insane rainforest patch about 30 min from Isabela. Driving is not for the meek. Small, curvy roads carry you through. Stopping points like lookout tower, waterfall, and hiking trails. ”

Beach
“Story tells that this is the place where Pirate "Cofresí" hides his bounty from the boats he and his crew attacks back at the begining of the 1800's. Today, you can explore caves around and take a look of the views. Advice: Although there is a beach, Do NOT bathe!!! Currents are extremely strong. Hill on the way out might be a bit tricky. Always bring water with you”
