Opera House
“What is it? One of Scandinavia’s most iconic modern buildings, the Opera House was designed to resemble a glacier rising out of the fjord and its prime role is to showcase opera and ballet performances. Why go? In many ways, this building marked the start of a new era for Oslo and the regeneration of its waterfront. Don’t miss a walk on top of its roof for a superb architectural experience with wonderful city views to boot.”

Palace
“What is it? The royal residence at the top of Karl Johans gate, home to HM King Harald V and HM Queen Sonja. The Royal Palace Park surrounds the palace on all sides and features grassy areas, majestic trees, small ponds and statues. Why go? Although the palace is open to the public only during 22 June until 25 August and all visitors must follow a guided tour, the impressive building at the end of Karl Johans street is worth a look. The grounds and gardens are free for visitors to wander around and for the regular changing of the guard every day at 1.30 pm.”

“A lot of bars, restaurants and small shops. For drinks i highly recommend a spicy drink on Aku-Aku Tiki Bar or a drink on Couch. Parkteateret has beer and concerts, Nedre Løkka Bar has good Gin tonics and Schouskjelleren is a nice place for a good beer or three. Blå is the place to go out dancing, or visit Syng for karaoke. For restaurants you can eat pizza on Villa Paradiso, burgers on Munchies, pancakes at Crêperie de Mari or mexican food at Tijuana Taqueria.”

“Popular Italian restaurant in the urban area Grünerløkka. Villa Paradiso serves authentic Italian pizza and other Italian dishes throughout the day. In the summer they open up the seating area outside where you get a view of the city life on Grünerløkka while eating great pizza. “A great choice of authentic Italian dishes in premises that will make you dream like you are in a Italian village. Perfect for dinner or lunch!””

Parque
“Large garden at Tøyen with ample botanical variety and diversity. Most of the area is designed as an Arboretum, with approximately 1800 different plants. The garden holds a large and varied collection of trees and shrubs planted in a systematic fashion after plant family. The Scent Garden is arranged as an experience for all, but especially the blind, mentally handicapped and wheelchair-bound. You will also find large, woven sculptures by the British artist Tom Hare around in the park. The greenhouses The Palm House from 1868 and The Victoria House from 1876 present exotic plants from other parts of the world. The greenhouses are open daily 10 am–8 pm between 15 March and 30 September, and 10 am–4 pm the rest of the year. Norwegian name: Botanisk hage”

Opera House
“The Famous Opera House, another wonderful must-see tourist attraction in Oslo. Located downtown, it's only a short walk away. Built almost entirely by massive Italian white marble, it's beautiful on both inside and outside. The building's design allows people to walk straight up on the roof, which I can highly recommend for a fantastic view of the downtown city and of the Oslo Fjord stretching all the way to the horizon :) A lovely place for a memorable photo ! ”

“Standard movie theatre with the latest releases, if you're in the mood for a movie. Try the Supreme screening room for the best sound and vid. If you're in for more of an indie movie experience, try Gimle Kino in Frogner. Old school theatre with interesting releases and pre-premieres. ”
