“Norwich Castle was completed in 1121, although originally designed to be a Royal Palace, no Norman King actually ever lived in it. In 1883 worked started to convert the Castle into a museum, opening in 1894, which it still exists as today! The Museum has incredible archaeology, natural history, regimental history galleries, as well as fine decorative and contemporary art. Tours of the castle keep, battlements, dungeons and Victorian Shirehall courthouse are available. It’s a great day out for kids and adults alike and is a wonderfully interesting educational environment. The castle is open all year round, Monday to Sunday with admissions for a family (with 2 adults) available at £34.85. Visit here for more information and prices. ”

Iglesia
“A joy to walk around inside, and outside through the cloisters, and don’t be surprised if you end up walking out into the most beautiful little mews of cottages at the back! The cathedral was begun in 1096 and constructed out of flint and mortar and faced with a cream-coloured Caen limestone. An Anglo-Saxon settlement and two churches were demolished to make room for the buildings. The cathedral was completed in 1145 with the Norman tower still seen today topped with a wooden spire covered with lead. Several episodes of damage necessitated rebuilding of the east end and spire but since the final erection of the stone spire in 1480 there have been few fundamental alterations to the fabric.”

As one of the largest and oldest (11th Century!) open-air markets in the country, its rich heritage and traditional appearance is sure to charm you. “Park managed by the National Trust. Humphry Repton presented his design for Sheringham Park way back in 1812. Over 200 years later you can still enjoy the coastal views he created and appreciate why he stated ‘Sheringham possessed more natural beauty and local advantages, then any place I have ever seen’”
