“If you need some 'New Orleans-y' souvenirs to take back home this is the place. It's rows and rows of leather goods, trinkets, spices, food, t-shirts, art, and more. Once you get off the ferry there is a streetcar that will take you right to it. Keep in mind it closes at 6pm and on rainy days it might be a little sparse as not all vendors will be out.”

One of the most prominent was James Pitot, the first mayor of New Orleans after the city's incorporation who lived here from 1810-1819.”
